I MADE A SUMMER FLORAL KIMONO!

If you remember this post about my dream summer garment, you would know I was hoping to make my own kimono. Well it turns out this is the easiest thing in the world to sew (as demonstrated in this sweet video tutorial). If you use a fabric that doesn't fray, you don't even need to use a sewing machine. All you need is a good pair of fabric cutting scissors.

For this kimono, I used a deep fushia floral fabric in a floaty chiffon which gives it movement and lightness. This is my favourite way to wear it, with a little black dress, black belt, gold flats and my favourite sunnies.

Gorgeous...could I even make this?

Absolutely Sara! If you can sew a basic straight stitch you can do it! It's really quite simple :) Or you could just cheat and find fabric that doesn't fray like a mesh lace or something!
