ESTHER-FAITH LOVES MATT // A FLORAL FILLED WEDDING LACED WITH GOLD

Photography: Stephan & Nakita
Florals: Rachel Barber
Makeup: Olivia Davies and Al Tucker
Bride's gown: Leanne Day

So although I have crafted many different lovely flower crowns, I must confess that these are still my favourites! A lavish combination of ruby reds, burgundy, seashell pinks, apricots and creams in an array of wild flowers set upon eucalyptus. It was such a delight to create such a challenging and creative design brief from Esther's wild, beautiful imagination. I searched many stores to find the most stunning silk blooms. I looked for orchids, hydrangea, poppies, a peony bud for the feature of the brides crown, wild berries, blossoms and basically anything native and lush.

Can we just dwell for a second on how impeccable those bouquets are? I am still in complete awe on just how well they compliment the flower crowns. Let's be honest they are more exquisite, they have to be. Real flowers are always going to be more beautiful. When paired with those luxurious beaded champagne/gold gowns... oh my! Esther's breath-taking lace gown was custom created by Leanne Day who did a wonderful job. Esther raves about her skills and how great she was at achieving her vision!

As you can tell Esther-Faith has an incredible eye for detail. Keep watching as I am about to post images of her recent bohemian birthday soiree which she styled like a pro. I started making that particular post and then realized that I HAVE to show you the images of her wedding first because it's beyond stunning.

Please head over to the website of Stephan & Nakita Photography (who are dear friends of mine) to see more images of this darling wedding. Keep an eye out for the gorgeous illustrated stationery designs by Ashleigh Meyer who was a bridesmaid (loooong mermaid hair, swept to the side).

Noteworthy mention is that it was also recently featured in New Zealand Weddings Magazine; Autumn issue, April 2016. If your in NZ, be sure to pick up a copy!

PRETTY IN PINK // FOOD STYLING

My obsession with pinning has lead to a whole board full of  of pretty edible things most of which are in my favourite shades of candyfloss, fushia and rose. There's something quite spectacular about these delectable treats being styled in such a beautiful way. They are works of art when combined with a well lit space and a superb photographer who knows how to compose the image in a dynamic way. Such tasty looking treats for which I would eat incandescently if my health allowed it.

Be sure to follow my pinterest for more pretty inspirations. I am convinced that following good pinners is the best and most efficient way to use this site.

If you are after more foodie blogs to keep in your regular reads I can certainly recommend a couple:
Made from Scratch is a New Zealand based blog by Rachel McMahon who has a love for baking and all things lifestyle. Her blog is built around the idea of small business and things that are handmade with love. Not to mention the clean style of her website combined with stunning photography and well written posts.

I also love the look and style of Lydia Bakes for which the title is quite self explanatory. Full of delicious recipes and baking inspiration by Lydia, this blog (also New Zealand based) is worth following for sure!

M E L B O U R N E

On our way to China, my husband and I decided to have a little holiday in between. We visited the beautiful city of Melbourne which is known for being the most liveable city in the world! Initially we were hoping to go to the Gold Coast to visit Louis' sister and our two gorgeous nephews, but unfortunately it was just too expensive. So we decided on our second choice in Melbourne which was more in line with the flight path to Asia.

I have always wanted to visit Melbourne as it is renowned for being a very creative and vibrant city. There is such a great atmosphere in the Metropolis with stunning architecture in various but complimenting styles. The musicians that played on the streets were top notch and had serious talent. They were so much more than your usual buskers with a profound skill.

It was amazing to catch up with some good friends who have recently moved there from NZ in the last few months. We had dinner along the river with the sounds of an incredible jazz saxophonist providing the soundtrack for the evening. It was a truly wonderful way to spend a Saturday night.

We were so blessed to have some friends (Hi Tom & Kate!) to house us during our stay in a close by suburb of Bacchus Marsh. Louis had previously stayed with them on a work trip when a few teachers and some students had crossed the ditch to visit their sister school. They really went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Kate even took a day off work to take us to the Zoo and Manor House at Werribee Park.

We had such a great time in Melbourne and I would highly recommend a visit if you haven't already. The CBD is easy to get around and we took great advantage of the free tram service that loops around the inner city. There is so much to see and do!
