LEAFY GREEN + WHITE ROSE + GYPSOPHILA // ROSE TINTED FLOWER CROWN

Rose Tinted Photography

I created this lush flower crown for a sweet soul named Maiya Jane. The intent was to keep it really fresh. I used leafy greens dotted with gyspophila, miniature spray roses, and a couple of white rose buds. It can be worn with the fuller section to the front, or to the side as I have modelled it here. I think the latter suits a simple side braid, or a messy chignon.

For this shoot, I wore this floaty crepe chiffon shirt with frilled sleeves that I picked up from a cute boutique in Shaoxing, China. It was in keeping with the fresh white wall, and it also really suited the style of the crown. I also imagine a cotton white summer dress with eyelet embroidery would look lovely. Perfect picnic date attire!

Special thanks to my hunk of a husband for snapping the photos of me. Also for being patient with my fussiness as I'm much more accustomed to being behind the lens.

WOODLAND WHIMSY // W/ SAMANTHA [OF] WILD OAK CO

When I was in New Zealand during February, I got to catch up with this gem [Samantha of Wild Oak Co.] for breakfast and an impromptu photo shoot in this stunning location. We discovered this small dwelling of trees close to her humble abode so we ventured there with a few Rose Tinted Flower Crowns on hand and camera's at the ready.   We took turns photographing one another wearing the new crochet lace cardigan I had bought the day prior.

It's so wonderful to collaborate with creative souls such as Samantha. You should be sure to check out Wild Oak Co. which the creative outlet of Sam and her husband Jonathan.

ANNIVERSARY FLOWERS FROM MY SWEETHEART

This past week my husband and I celebrated our four years of marriage! I can't believe it's already been that long but I can tell you it's been wonderful!

He took me out to dinner at a really nice French restaurant here in Wuhan and we had a nice meal.
We then took a walk along the Yangtze river with ice-cream in hand, and watched as people lit paper lanterns to ascend into the night sky. (Which coincidently we returned to do the very next night with good freinds). Wuhan is a magical place to be at night. The city is lit up beautifully and there is so much going on, you can't but be mesmerized by it all.

Oh and then there's the pretty flowers he got for me! He specifically asked for them to be wrapped in brown paper as opposed to the tacky patterned plastic they would normally have used. I love them. They looked so French and chic that I started taking photos in our sunny apartment. Which led to Louis taking photos of me holding them in my date dress.

Of course it makes me remember last years anniversary shoot with Stephan & Nakita Photography. They're my favourite pictures of us!

ROSE TINTED FLOWER CROWN // FOR JODI

I recently crafted this pretty flower crown for my darling friend Jodi using lilac roses along with miniature garden roses in shades of light and dark pink. From there I added white blossoms and lavender to achieve the look of my silk flower arrangement in the last image.

A BIRD TO BE // KITCHEN TEA

I recently travelled back to my homeland New Zealand (from my current dwelling in China) for the wedding of one of my longest and dearest friends. You may recall Ashley and her beau Nathan Bird from this engagement shoot that I photographed sometime ago. I'm so excited to say they are now married!

A Kitchen Tea (Bridal Shower), was hosted by us bridesmaids in honour of Ashley and the beautiful woman she is. It was a wonderful afternoon with lovely company, delectable treats, fun games and ladies all dolled up in their prettiest frocks and hats/flower crowns (spot how many #rosetintedflowercrowns you can see).

I made a very special flower crown especially for the "Bird to be" which featured a couple of lovebirds that I picked up from Iko Iko. Still pretty happy about how well it matched her butter yellow dress she wore for the event. How radiant does she look?

I also had a hand in designing the invites which were very feminine and floral. Note: This is not a real address, please don't stalk my beautiful friends!

Be sure to be following Nicole Paton Photography and Claudia Williams Photography on facebook if you are interested in seeing images and videography from the wedding. It was such a beautiful day and an absolute honour to be a part of. x
