ROSE TINTED FLOWER CROWN // FOR JODI

I recently crafted this pretty flower crown for my darling friend Jodi using lilac roses along with miniature garden roses in shades of light and dark pink. From there I added white blossoms and lavender to achieve the look of my silk flower arrangement in the last image.

SAKURA CHERRY BLOSSOM TREES // AT WUHAN UNIVERSITY - CHINA

Spring has officially sprung in Wuhan, China and my husband and I took the opportunity to go on a special date to see the Japanese Sakura blossoms in full bloom at the Wuhan University. These splendid trees line an entire street near the traditional style buildings of the University grounds in an area which used to be occupied by the Japanese. They are a renowned attraction in China bringing thousands, if not millions of people to see them for the few short weeks they are in bloom. I was sure to wear my new blush & rose kimono style top that I recently bought on sale at H&M.

Seeing these cherry blossoms me makes me reminisce to one of my favourite photo shoots which you can see here.

SELF PORTRAIT // FLOWER CROWN

Photography : Eloise of Jazz Lips & Tulips
Art Direction / Styling / Editing : Maree of Rose Tinted Photography

In this portrait I'm wearing on of my favourite white dresses which I got from H&M whilst I was in England, and one of my own handmade flower crowns. I absolutely love flower crowns! You'll notice they often feature in my Rose Tinted Illustration's cause I find them so pretty. I have fun making them too, so if you also like flower crowns, feel free to contact me (rosetintedillustration@gmail.com) so I can craft you a custom crown!

I think like most people, it is hard to like photo's of yourself. But in this instance, I kinda love this frame. It has a lot to do with the dreamy lighting and the pinky, purple tone (which occured naturally, honestly I did barely any editing). It reminds me of this Tea Party fashion spread for Vogue China by Amber Gray Photography.

This was a frame from the Cherry Blossom Shoot I did with my Sister-in-law/Best friend, Eloise of Jazz Lips & Tulips. We were just at the point of getting glorious late afternoon sunshine which is possibly the best time of day.

SPRINGTIME CHERRY BLOSSOMS // ROSE TINTED PHOTOGRAPHY : PART TWO

Photography and Editing : Maree of Rose Tinted

Here is part two of the Cherry Blossom shoot, this time of the gorgeous Eloise! She is such a great model, don't you think? She's also a great sister-in-law and dear friend.

I'm in love with her floral romper, I reckon it's the best one I've ever seen. Plus how cute is her straw hat? It looks especially pretty with one of my handmade flower crowns around the brim.

Be sure to drop by her stunning blog, Jazz Lips and Tulips. It's honestly an amazing site that she has put so much hard work into. She's not only creative but also technically minded, so she has taught herself a lot about HTML and CSS. She has also been a wonderful input in helping me set up this blog and an inspiration to keep posting my work.
